Can I Make a Fake Hotel Reservation for Schengen Visa?

If you have some basic research and photoshopping skills you can find online tons of hotel reservation templates and edit them to fit your dates of stay in the Schengen Area and details.

In addition, you may find online services or a fake hotel reservation generator that offers you free fake hotel reservation or very cheap ones so you do not risk losing money in case your visa application is rejected.

They look very genuine and real and save you a lot of money if you intend to i.e., sleep in your car, or camp outside.  However, you should ask yourself, is it worth it?

If the consular officers find out that you provided a fake document, you will face quite some consequences, including:

Your visa application will be automatically rejected.

You will lose all the money you spend in visa fees, obtaining other documents, and flight reservations (if they weren’t fake too).

You will risk your future applications to the Schengen area, as you will be registered in the Schengen databases as a person who provided false information to the Schengen authorities.

Even if you get a visa to the Schengen territory in the future, you have higher chances than other people to be rejected from entering at any of the Schengen ports of entry.

Therefore, carefully think about your situation and evaluate whether it is better to risk losing a bit of money by providing a real hotel reservation, or risk facing the consequences listed above by submitting a fake hotel reservation or one obtained from a fake hotel reservation generator.

Why do you need travel insurance for visa application?

There are many documents that are needed for a visa application, in most cases travel medical insurance is one of them. The embassies need to see proof that you will be covered whilst you are away as fees and medical bills can easily run into the thousands and tens of thousands of pounds very easily. If you are not covered and do not pay your outstanding medical fees then the authorities will have to spend a lot of time, money and resources to track you down as well as the hospital being at a loss.

Things you should know about visitor’s insurance for visa

When applying for travel insurance for visa you will need to disclose any health conditions e.g., cancer, diabetes, asthma, etc this will then ensure you receive the correct insurance policy that will fully cover you. You may find that, if you do have a health condition, your insurance cover will be more expensive. This is because you have a higher chance of needing medical assistance during your trip. If you purchase travel medical insurance and do not disclose any medical conditions that you are aware of, your insurance will become invalid if you result in needing medical treatment. You will end up having to pay the bill and you will not be covered by your travel insurance. Most policies will cover pregnancy in the first trimester as long as your doctor has deemed you safe for flying.

Why Travel Insurance is required for applying Schengen visa:

One of the requirements to apply for Schengen visa is to have Schengen visa travel insurance. As we all know that travelling involves some risk. These can be health risks due to change in climate and life style or any other emergency situation faced during travel. It is must to get a policy for you according Schengen visa requirements.  All you need to show is one-page insurance coverage letter indicating that the applicant is covered by Schengen Travel Medical Insurance (Minimum coverage is €30.000 for all medical expenses which may happen in any Schengen country). By providing an acceptable Schengen travel insurance you can surely increase the chances of getting your Schengen visa.

Do I Really Need to Show Confirmed Hotel Bookings and Flight Reservations for Schengen Visa?

Now, this is a bit tricky.

Though they mention on their websites, not to book the confirmed flight tickets but ask for the confirmation proof.

To get a Schengen visa, it is mandatory to show confirmed flight tickets and Accommodation bookings for your entire duration of travel and stay in the Schengen region.

The safest option is to book fully refundable flights on your credit card and cancel to rebook the cheaper flights once you get your visa.

Fully refundable flights, of course, are way more expensive than their non-refundable counterparts but keep you safe from any losses and then no one can question its authenticity.

The ticket hold option for a free or minimal fee or using award miles by airline companies can be used.

But they can hold tickets minimum for a day and maximum for a week. So, it’s quite risky if your visa processing takes more than a week’s time.

Which option did we choose?

We paid a little amount of money to a travel agent and got our flight or travel itinerary.

Flight itinerary is like a detailed plan of the flights to the Schengen area.

The document shows the chosen airline with a flight name, your name, a valid flight reservation number or booking ID, arrival and departure date and airport codes, as well as the price.

There are a couple of online visa booking sites too that provide flight and hotel itinerary for a little amount of service fee.

You can go ahead with the same flights once you get the visa and your money is adjusted in the total flight amount or you can plan to book different flights. Here, the loss is minimal.

What Can I Submit as Proof of Accommodation or Hotel Reservation?

The embassy or consulate that you have to apply at in order to get a visa to your destination country, may require from you for either proof of accommodation, certificate of accommodation, letter of accommodation or hotel confirmation letter.

However complicated that it might seem, all of the above-mentioned serve for the same purpose: as evidence that you have a place where to sleep during your stay in your destination country.

This proof/certificate/letter can either be a:

        Hotel booking,

Host invitation – if you are planning to stay over at friends or family members/relatives,

Confirmation by an organized tour operator or holiday tours, or

        Rental agreement / contract.

Though most of the countries will require you to submit proof of accommodation, especially in the old continent of Europe, in many other countries you will only have to show Means of Subsistence. Which means you will have to show proof, like a bank statement, that proves you have enough money to financially maintain yourself during your trip, including the stay at the hotel/hostel/guest house.

Hotel Reservation

If you are planning to stay at a hotel in your destination country then you will have to submit proof of the hotel booking, which usually is a ‘hotel confirmation letter’ which is also known as hotel Itinerary for visa application. This means that after you book a room/suite, the hotel will issue you a letter which confirms it.

This letter must contain the following information:

        your full name

        your entry and exit dates

        hotel address

hotel contact details as phone number, email, etc.

        a valid hotel reservation code

Every embassy or consulate advises its applicants to make a hotel reservation at a hotel that will fully refund your expenses in case of visa rejection or delay. If you cannot find one like that, then try to find the cheapest hotel reservation. That is because if you book a room at a hotel that does not refund you in case of visa application rejection or delay, then you will lose your money.

You can also submit dummy hotel booking as proof of accommodation. Although this method may sometimes be referred to as a fake hotel reservation, this is by no means a fake booking. It’s just a booking without paying the price before the approval of the visa application.

In the Schengen Visa Itinerary also, we have amazing services are there like Flight Itinerary, Hotel Booking and Travel Insurance.

Won’t I lose a lot of money if I book a flight and my Schengen Visa application is rejected?

You do not need to buy a full flight ticket before applying for your visa. Embassies and Consulate officials understand that applicants may not wish to spend lots of money on a ticket before they even know if they can travel.

Instead, officials will want a reservation or itinerary with dates and flight numbers specifying entry and exit from a Schengen State. Some will accept the Schengen Visa flight itinerary when applying for the visa but may request the original air ticket when the visa is collected. You will have to present your Schengen Visa flight itinerary at your visa interview.

 On this document must appear:

·        passenger's first and last name

·        flight number of the chosen airline

·        a reservation number or identifier

·        departure and return dates (the ticket must be round trip)

·        flight hours

·        IATA airport codes

·        the total price of the ticket

If you are confident of obtaining your Schengen Visa, and are happy to book your flight before obtaining your visa, for example, if you have applied on many occasions before, you can - and some airlines offer tickets with the option of cancellation and refunds, although these tend to be more expensive than standard tickets.

However, there is nothing to be concerned about if this is not your preferred option as there are plenty of ways to obtain a flight itinerary without buying a costly flight ticket.

It is important to remember before you hand over your documents that your flight itinerary should be plausible. It must be consistent with your travel dates and your activities must be arranged in a way that fits with your plans and the purpose of your visit - because if not, it may contribute to the rejection your visa application.
